Incoming Kindergarten Class
Class of 2031
If your child was born in 2019 and lives in New York City, they are eligible to attend kindergarten in fall 2024. The kindergarten application for Fall 2024 is closed. If you missed the deadline, you can still participate in admissions by adding yourself to the waitlist. Please visit Myschools.nyc to search and join waitlists.
If you received an offer to attend PS 185, go to myschools.nyc to accept. Download the 7 registration forms (links below), complete and return with the required documents to HVerveniotis@schools.nyc.gov. Please send one email with ALL required forms. Once we receive your completed registration packet we will contact you to schedule a time for an in person appointment with your child. With the registration forms, scan and submit the following required documents:
Proof of Age (scan/take picture of birth certificate)
Proof of Residency (scan/take picture of TWO proofs of residency – must be dated within the past 60 days)
Immunization Record
Photo Id - Parent/Guardian
T5 Placement Letter (if applicable)
PARTIAL DOCUMENTATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. PLEASE SEND ONE EMAIL WITH ALL REQUIRED FORMS.

*PROOF OF RESIDENCY: visit Registration Checklist (nyc.gov) for a list of acceptable proofs of residency.
**IMMUNIZATION RECORDS: You must submit proof of immunization for your child to attend school. All students must meet the requirements for: DTaP (diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis), poliovirus, MMR (measles-mumps-rubella), varicella and hepatitis B vaccines. Visit: Immunizations (nyc.gov) for more information.
